Lincoln Bain

Lincoln Bain is a political and social activist, entrepreneur, author, media host, musician, motivational speaker, minister and business consultant. His public life has centred on justice, transparency, Bahamian ownership and returning political power to citizens.

Political goals

Bain's stated priorities include equitable distribution of natural-resource value through a sovereign wealth fund; transparent and accountable government; economic and social empowerment of Bahamians; lawful action on immigration; and island states and city government that give communities greater control over local revenue and development.

His central political message is that The Bahamas should place Bahamians first and turn citizens from spectators in their own economy into owners.

Early life and education

Born and raised in Nassau, Bain attended E. P. Roberts Primary and Jordan Prince Williams. He later studied Computer Science and Business at Florida Memorial University and Law at the University of Buckingham, and has pursued graduate theological studies.

He joined the Royal Bahamas Police Force in 1995. While on study leave he began building businesses, and in 2005 left the Force to pursue entrepreneurship and activism full time.

Business and empowerment

Bain has founded ventures across information technology, footwear and clothing, medical supplies, media, events, consulting and education. He used his international business experience to teach Bahamians how to source goods, trade and pursue ownership.

More than a thousand people attended the Bahamas Business Boot Camp launched in 2016. He later founded Master Trade House and organised business seminars and educational trips to China to help Bahamian entrepreneurs access global opportunity.

Media, music and authorship

His radio and television work has included The New Nation, Real Talk Reloaded, Straight Talk, Controversy TV, MasterU and Lincoln Bain Live, broadcast on Sundays at 5 PM across social platforms.

Bain is an award-winning singer and songwriter associated with the gospel group Vision, and the author of Identity Crisis, a book focused on purpose and personal identity. His public-speaking and media work has reached audiences in The Bahamas and internationally.

Activism and Bahamian Evolution

With Charlotte Green and Cara Ellis, Bain co-founded Bahamian Evolution. The organisation produced natural-resource documentaries, organised civic action and placed aragonite, land, Crown Land and public accountability at the centre of national debate.

His advocacy record described on the original COI site includes work with Sea Hauler victims, Cabbage Beach vendors, Crown Land applicants, threatened homeowners and citizens facing abuse. It also includes protests, town halls, legal challenges and public-interest investigations.

The Coalition of Independents

In 2021, independent candidates and organisations met to form a coalition. The grouping adopted a mission and selected Bain as leader. The COI officially launched in April and contested the general election only months later.

The movement continued after election day—organising protests, travelling to Family Islands, investigating public issues and developing Vision 2030 and its first-100-days programme.
